Shamed into posting!
Heh...a friend from my airsofting group Nerdwarz sent me a link to his LJ, and I likewise sent him mine. His first comment was "you never post apparently" which is about right. Now I feel bad, so I'm gonna bring everyone up to speed...or something to that effect.
Since I started out on the topic of airsoft, I'll give you an update on our latest outing. I finally got a chance to use my freaking huge 1200 round drum magazine, and it made a hell of a lot of difference in both my, and our group's playing style. Having 1200 rounds on tap instantly turns your gun into the Squad Automatic Weapon. As a SAW gunner, I spent most of the day acting like a bullet hose, keeping heads down and generally filling the air with rounds. I must say I do like it a lot, and will most likely upgrade my gun to follow in this line of work. Having a SAW gunner is a definite advantage to tactical movement as it allows everyone to move under cover fire without having to worry about conserving ammo.
In other airsoft news, I've sold both of my MP5Ks, which is a nice addition to the "fund to pay off the new gun." In doing so I found out about a crazy event going on in the coming weeks. From what I hear the scenario will be held fighting through an abandoned high school scheduled for demolition. Insane. I've got to hit up Florida Airsoft and get the details...and ask off work!
Speaking of work, things on that end of the spectrum have been going exceedingly well. I've been chosen to go on several "special missions" to other stores in the area. My boss apparently likes my work ethic and thinks I'm one of the best employees he's had, despite my only being there for a few months. From what I can gather, my name has filtered up a bit in the corporate hierarchy, and that can't be a bad thing. In fact, I've been nominated to go with one of our managers to an especially bad store north of here on a 3 day "field trip" to get it back in line. Another of my supervisors mentioned that I could / should look into management training. Sounds cool to me...pay raise and management experience can't be bad. The workload would increase, yes, but I've never been one to slouch when it comes to hard work. I pride myself on a job well done, and it appears to have paid off.
In other news, I've finally reached level 10 and 1,000 posts on the Newgrounds BBS! Probably doesn't mean all that much to you, but it's an accomplishment in my book. Sadly, that's where I've been spending nearly all my online time, instead of posting here. I've got to get a handle on that...learn to be more varied in my online presence.
In the coming weeks my parents will be coming down for a visit as well. I miss them a bit, it will be nice to have some time to catch up in person. IM and phone conversations only go so far. I think we're going to hit up a manatee place at some point in their visit. That should also be pretty damn cool. I've never seen a manatee before, and I bet they'd be neat to hang out with. Like happy walruses.
Now lets see if I can't be more up to date on this little journal thing. It's not very conducive to reading if it's always the same thing now is it?
